Free Guitars for Future Stars

Christmas Concert/Party at Off Broadway Coffee

We will be holding a Christmas Concert on December 20th.
This concert will be held at:

Off Broadway Coffee
10321 Main St
Richmond, IL 60071

Students past and present are invited to play Christmas songs. We will play a few songs as a group, then anyone wanting to play another can. All students are encouraged to play, but no one has to play…we want everyone to enjoy themselves!
Parents, family, friends, and anyone interested in learning more about Free Guitars for Future Stars is invited to join us and to mix and mingle with the people involved with our programs.

Free coffee, hot chocolate, and Christmas cookies included!

We want to thank Kathy at Off Broadway Coffee for letting us use the space for this event. It is perfect setting for our evening. Great coffee too!

Last month Scott spoke with Jay Schultz on Harvard Community Radio.

Last week Scott talked at the Unity Spiritual Center’s Thanksgiving Eve service along with 3 others, Cheryl Niemo from JailBreakers, Karen Hansen from Sedom, and Keith Johnson with Off Music Square. The Unity is very generous in their support of these organizations. For us it involves allowing us space to give our weekly lessons and in the past we have held summer lessons and our graduates pizza party at the Unity.

Last night Scott talked at Muriel Anderson’s “Annual After Thanksgiving Concert” in Downer’s Grove. John Wise from The Music for Life Alliance (founded by Muriel), and Muriel honored us with a $1000 check for the work we do providing music opportunity to children.

Scott will continue with his promotion of Free Guitars for Future Stars on Thursday evening with The Rotary Club of Fox Valley Sunset at the monthly meeting in Lake-in-the-Hills. The Rotary’s Linda Lidell was introduced to FG4FS through a social event held by the McHenry County Community Foundation early this year and asked if we could share our mission and provide a little Christmas music at their December 5th meeting.

Scott’s talking will continue on Friday, December 6th as he speaks with Dorothy Litwin on Huntley Community Radio. This is an interview that was postponed from last month. We will record on Friday at 10:00am. Check out it out at You can hear it on a podcast after the the interview is recorded.

Huntley Radio Interview Date Changed

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our interview with Dorothy Litwin on Huntley Community Radio was rescheduled for Friday December 6th. Tune in then!
